The Beginning

 

While attending an appreciation volunteer luncheon at Compass Christian Church. Jeanie met Marly. Marly and Jeanie discovered they had something in common, Colombia. Marly was born in Colombia, and Jeanie sponsored a child from Colombia through Compassion International. Marly had previously been a director of a Compassion International Developmental Center in Cartagena Colombia. Out of that chance meeting the team birthed “The Potter’s Hands & Feet!”​

 

Marly and Jeanie discovered that three of the ladies in their church group had sponsored children from Colombia through Compassion International. To their surprise, the three ladies were not living in Arizona when they chose their child. Though they were not sure why God put them all together in a bible study group in Arizona, they knew they should not ignore it.​

 

Marly reached out to the Pastors of the church responsible for the three compassion children that the ladies in her group sponsored and to Marly’s home church which also oversees a developmental center.​

 

After praying and fasting about the needs, our first campaign became, Caring for Colombia!
